Payment & Billing Policy

Last updated: September 04, 2025
(Denmark launch — DKK; expansion to Germany & the Netherlands — EUR)

This Payment & Billing Policy explains how payments are processed when you purchase from Lyvik at lyvik.com (the “Services”). It should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Refund & Return Policy, and Shipping Policy.

1) Scope

This Policy applies to all orders placed through our online store. By placing an order, you agree to this Policy.

2) Accepted payment methods

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, which may include:

  • Visa

  • Mastercard

  • American Express

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • (Where offered and displayed at checkout: local methods such as Dankort, Maestro, bank transfers, or BNPL providers like Klarna.)

We do not charge surcharges for consumer card payments in the EEA, in line with PSD2 rules. Any optional fees (e.g., for premium delivery upgrades) will be shown before you pay.

3) Currency & price display

  • Denmark launch: Prices are displayed and charged in Danish kroner (DKK).

  • Upon expansion: For orders shipping to Germany or the Netherlands, prices may be displayed and charged in EUR.

  • Prices include VAT where applicable. Taxes, shipping, and any optional services are shown at checkout before you confirm payment.

If your payment method is denominated in another currency, your bank/payment provider may apply its own exchange rate and fees. We are not responsible for such charges.

4) Authorization, capture & invoicing

  • We typically authorize your selected payment method at checkout and capture funds when your order ships.

  • For certain products (e.g., gift cards or pre‑orders) or where required by the payment method, we may capture payment at order confirmation.

  • You will receive a digital receipt/invoice by email. For business purchases, you may enter your VAT ID where available at checkout.

If we cannot obtain authorization or capture funds, we may cancel your order. We will notify you and you can re‑submit with a different payment method.

5) Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)

Payments may require Strong Customer Authentication (e.g., 3‑D Secure, one‑time codes, biometrics) under PSD2. If you fail SCA, the transaction may be declined by your bank; you can try again or contact your bank for assistance.

6) Security of payments

Payments are processed by Shopify and/or our payment processors using TLS encryption and industry‑standard security controls. We do not store full card numbers; processors handle card data in accordance with PCI DSS requirements.

7) Fraud prevention & verification

We may use automated tools and manual checks to prevent fraud. We may contact you to verify details (e.g., billing, shipping). If we suspect unauthorized or high‑risk activity, we may refuse, cancel, or refund an order.

8) Refunds & reversals

  • Refunds are made to the original payment method used for the order.

  • Timing depends on your bank or provider (typically 5–10 business days after we process the refund).

  • If your card has expired or the account is closed, your card‑issuer/provider will route the refund per its policies.

  • For partial returns, we refund the amount paid for the returned items per our Refund & Return Policy.

  • Currency effects & bank fees are outside our control and are not reimbursed by Lyvik.

9) Chargebacks & disputes

If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us first so we can help. If you open a chargeback, we may provide order, shipping, and communication records to the card network for resolution. Repeated or abusive chargebacks may lead to account restrictions.

10) Installments/BNPL (where available)

If you choose a Buy Now, Pay Later option (e.g., Klarna), you enter into a separate agreement with that provider, which may perform credit and identity checks and set its own fees and late‑payment rules. Please review the provider’s terms before selecting this method.

11) Gift cards & store credit

  • Gift cards (if offered) are issued electronically, redeemable only at lyvik.com, and are not reloadable.

  • Gift cards and store credit are not redeemable for cash, except where required by law.

  • Protect gift cards like cash; we are not responsible for lost or stolen cards.

12) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Updates take effect on posting with the new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.

Compliance notes (remove before publishing)

  • Keep legal entity details consistent across Payment, Terms, Privacy, Refund, Shipping, site footer, invoices, and Google Merchant Center. If Lyvik is a Danish entity, use CVR and DK VAT (not NL identifiers).

  • Ensure Shopify capture settings match Section 4 (authorization at checkout, capture on shipment).

  • If you do not offer BNPL/Dankort/Maestro, remove those references.

  • Add local language versions (Danish now; German/Dutch upon expansion).

  • Confirm whether you surcharge any commercial/corporate cards; if you do, disclose at checkout and ensure local law allows it.

  • Link this page from the footer and ensure the payment methods displayed on the site match those actually enabled at checkout.

  • If you export to DE/NL later, show EUR prices and ensure VAT handling via EU OSS is configured.
